I have the honor to enclose a copy of Sir Henry Pottinger's letter No: 42 addressed by order to the Colonial Chaplain, by which he sanctioned the hire of a house, at a monthly rent of $100, to be paid out of the Colonial Treasury, for the accommodation of the Reverend Vincent Stanton.
This arrangement was made under the express understanding that the propriety of a residence being allowed to that Gentleman at the public expense was to be referred to Her Majesty's Government, and the result of that reference was to determine whether...
